Reliable Reflectance colorimeter

The Schmidt & Haensch electronic reflectance colorimeter is designed for the automatic color grading of crystalline sugar. It complies with the ICUMSA recommendations, specifically method GS2-11 (1994), and GS2-13 (1994). This instrument measures the reflectance factors at 495 nm and 620 nm, with the resulting ratio being displayed as colour type numbers.

The Saccharoflex 2020 is a reliable and easy-to-maintain measurement system, thanks to the use of high-integrated circuits, minimal heat generation, and a detachable lighting unit. It meets the high SCHMIDT + HAENSCH quality standards and is compatible with ceramic calibration standards.

Easy to use 

LCD display with a 4-button keyboard simplifies handling, while the standard RS 232 serial interface ensures reliable printing. The adjustable working voltage extends the service life of the lighting unit, resulting longer intervals between replacements. Additionally, a power-saving switcher powers  the electric bulb, preventing the Saccharoflex 2020 from overheating and allowing continuous operation without any issues.

The Saccharoflex measures the color grading of white sugars according to ICUMSA standards. This is essential for quality control in production and for scientific analysis.

Reflectance colorimeter in depth

The measurement is based on Taylor’s law and uses an integrated sphere. To reduce measurement instabilities caused by sample inhomogeneity (such as variations in grain size), a large sample surface area is used.

You can calibrate the Saccharoflex 2020 using just two standards: the Brunswick colour type or ceramic standards, preferably 0 and 6. You can easily make calibration adjustments using the keyboard. The reflectance colorimeter allows measurements up to 19.99 indicating units without the need for further adjustments.
