The vario EL cube is a CHNS elemental analyzer that addresses the growing and evolving demands of 21st-century researchers. It was created in close contact with existing users.

Designed as the successor to the market-leading vario EL III analyzer, the vario EL cube the most versatile instrument for CHNS+O+Cl analysis. Built on the “cube” platform, it represents a method that has been proven countless times. With the latest manufacturing technology and intelligent engineering, the vario EL cube is designed to meet the needs of every user.

Its established purge and trap chromatography capabilities ensure baseline separation under all conditions for a wide range of samples. These include pharmaceutical, soil analysis, sediment research, and foodstuff analysis. This makes the vario EL cube a high-end solution for all types of applications

Specifications of the CHNS elemental analyzer: 

High-temperature combustion unit:

It offers quantitative sample digestion at temperatures up to 1,200°C, or 1,800°C at the point of combustion when tinfoil is used. It comes with a ten-year furnace warranty. This ensures 100% recovery, for samples that are difficult to combust. The jet injection of oxygen directly to the sample provides the highest oxygen concentrations at the point of combustion. This also minimizes gas consumption

It accommodates a wide range of sample weights, from micro (less than1 mg) to macro (800 mg soil). It can also handle up to 20 mg of organic matter, depending on specific requirements.

Largest dynamic range of element concentrations and element ratio:

Up to 40 mg C abs, or 15 mg N abs, from ppm to 100%.

Purge and trap chromatography:

The vario EL cube separates of gaseous components up to three specific columns, ensuring perfect separation without overlap. It also automatically optimizes the analysis time.

Multipoint calibration:

It offers matrix-independent stability for months at a time.

PC-based instrumentation control:

The full digitalization of the vario EL cube enables remote operation from a standard PC and perfect results even with unknown or highly variable sample matrices. It features an integrated standard sample feeder that can hold up to 80 samples, and offers 21 CFR part 11 functionality.

One simple instrument for all applications:

The vario EL cube requires no expensive special catalysts, facilitating easy ash removal from the combustion tube and offering long-lasting components to ensure a low cost of ownership.

Clean, safe and fast:

Each analysis only takes a few minutes and uses helium or argon carrier gases, with no aggressive or toxic chemicals needed.

Easy installation requirements:

The vario EL cube occupies just 48 x 55 cm of benchtop space with a single power supply (230, 110 or 100 V) and two gases, offering long periods of maintenance-free operation.
