Designed for environmental samples
The analysis of TOC in wastewater is an internationally recognized procedure used to assess organic contamination or evaluate the cleaning efficiency of sewage treatment plants. Additionally, TOC and TNb determination are crucial for monitoring organic pollution and nitrogen load in surface waters. The enviro TOC is specifically designed for the analysis of TOC, NPOC, TC, TIC, DOC, POC, or TNb in these matrices. Samples are injected with a 60-position autosampler.
It features integrated rinsing functions that minimize carryover during the analysis of particle-containing samples. It allows for the measurement of soil samples or waste without the need for time-consuming instrument modifications. As one of the few analyzers on the market, the enviro TOC offers fully automatic TOC determination in both solid and liquid samples with a single system.
TOC analyzer with flexible nitrogen determination
The enviro TOC enables simultaneous TNb determination using either the proven EC cell technology or a novel, integrated chemiluminescence detector (CLD). The innovative CLD concept ensures stable conditions for NO measurement in the carrier gas.
As a result, the NO signal shows a linear correlation with the TNb concentration across a wide measurement range. The built-in CLD eliminates the need for additional laboratory space and provides extremely stable values, which simplifies both calibration and result evaluation.
Real matrix separation with SALTTRAP
During the combustion of salt-containing samples, salts crystallize in the combustion tube. If this crystallization happens directly on the quartz glass or within the catalyst, it can significantly shorten their lifespan. The unique SALTTRAP of the enviro TOC ensures user-friendly maintenance intervals for both the combustion tube and the catalyst, even when handling concentrated salt solutions. This saves running costs during operation.
Depending on the nature of the salt, a slight reduction in crystallization may be possible by reducing the combustion temperature. However, only SALTTRAP provides truly effective protection against glass corrosion. It works by trapping salts directly at the point where they melt.

The user-friendly maintenance concept of the enviro TOC ensures most efficient routine analysis with minimal effort. The design focuses on maximizing the instrument’s lifespan while minimizing maintenance requirements. All consumables are easily replicable by the user. The clearly arranged, accessible components allow most maintenance work to be performed quickly and independently within a very short time. This approach not only reduces running costs but also minimizes downtime.

Analysis methods
The enviro TOC uses high-temperature catalytic carbon oxidation up to 1200 °C and CO2 detection with NDIR technology for determination of TOC, NPOC, TC, TIC, POC (VOC), DOC. Additionally, TNb determination is possible simultaneously with CLD or EC cell (option).
Innovative detectors
It features customized, integrated detectors for CO2 and NO determination. The instrument allows sample volumes that enable multipoint calibration from a single standard solution, which can avoid dilution errors. It also offers extraordinary linearity over a wide calibration range.
Modular concept for liquids and solids analysis
It comes equipped with sample feeders for both liquids and solids. For more cost-efficient solutions, manual sample change are available. The system is designed for quick and easy exchangeable and can be upgraded at any time.
SALTTRAP
The innovative combustion tube concept enables real matrix separation and offers maximum protection of the combustion tube. It is designed for analyses of salt-containing samples, particles or other complicated sample matrices.
Software with high performance and maximum flexibility
The enviro TOC is controlled via a Windows standard PC. It is equipped with control and evaluation software that offers flexible calibration features, advanced math operations, and intuitive troubleshooting capacities. It also includes integrated maintenance software and a comprehensive help menu.
Robust furnace
The working temperatures are up to 1200 °C. Suitable and flexible temperature settings for salt-containing solutions (~720-750 °C), particle-containing solutions (850 °C), and solids (larger than 900 °C) with one furnace are also available.
